A son of grocery shop runner, in his early days he used to play just either cricket or football. Bolt himself also believes that he was involved in just games and nothing else in his young days. He later joined a primary and all age school where he realized himself as a potential athlete. At age of just 12 he was the fastest runner of the school. According to Bolt it was his cricket coach who advised him to try for the track and field events. In later stages he proved himself a potential runner.
