Indian Grand Master - Vishwanathan Anand

Vishwanathan Anand At present he is the World Chess Champion, also named as the Indian Grand Master. He firstly won the FIDE World Chess Championship in the year 2000. The only year he was away from his title was 2007. He got the title for first position in the year 2008 by defeating Vladimir Kramnik. This year after win the world title he became the only player in the chess history to have won world chess championship in three different formats viz., knockout, tournament and match. Here we talking about Vishwanathan Anand. In order to defend his world chess championship title he will have to win the title match which will be played between him and the winner of the match between Veselin Topalov and Gata Kamsky, both of which are going to play for challenger title match.
Vishwanathan Anand has in his credit many awards. One is India's second highest civilian award viz., Padma Vibhushan. And the other is Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award won in the year 1991-92, an another award for the highest honour in sports. He started his career as a national player when he won the national Sub-Junior Chess Championship all at the age of just fourteen. He won the International chess master at the age of fifteen, at just sixteen he became National chess champion.
Vishwanathan Anand has in his credit the following chess titles :
1. National Sub-Junior Chess Champion in 1983, when he was just 14 years old.
2. International Master in 1984, at the age of 15.
3. Indian National Champion in 1985, at just 16.
4. World Junior Chess Champion in 1987.
5. Grandmaster, 1988.
6. FIDE World Chess Champion in 2000.
7. FIDE World Bitz Chess Champion in 2000.
8. FIDE World Rapid Chess Champion in 2003.
9. FIDE World Chess Champion in 2007 (Undisputed title).
10. FIDE World Chess Champion in 2008 (Undisputed title) again.

Moreover he has also been awarded with various awards like Arjun award in 1985 for outstanding Indian sportsman in chess, Padma Shri National award and Soviet Land Nehru award in 1987, Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award in the year 1991-1992, British Chess Federation 'Book of the year' award in 1998 for the book my best games of chess, Padma Bhushan in 2000, Chess Oscar for the years 1997,1998, 2003, 2004 and 2007. And even Padma Vibhusan in the year 2008.
