A career look of Yelena Isinbayeva

Yelena Isinbayeva Russian pole vaulter and two time Olympic gold medalist - Yelena Isinbayeva is the only female pole vaulter to clear 5 mts. At the age of just 26 she has many world records in her name. In the initial years she trained herself as a gymnast but since she grew too tall she decided to quit the sport and later decided to go on in with Pole Vault. Yelena's medal journey started just after a short interval of her starting the sport. She was just 16 in 1998 when she got some of her major achievements, since then it had been a long medal tally winning attitude shown by her.
Some of Yelena's major achievements include two gold medals in Olympics, one in 2004 Athens while the other in 2008 Beijing. She got two gold and one bronze in three major world championships been held at Paris in 2003, Helsinki 2005 and Osaka 2007. She got three gold and one silver in world indoor championships viz., 2003 Birmingham, 2004 Budapest, 2006 Moscow and 2008 Valencia. She is credited with one gold at World Junior Championship held at Santiago during the year 2000. In her early years she got gold at World Youth Championship Bydgoszcz in 1999. She also got a gold at world youth games held at Moscow in the year 1998. At 2002 Munich European Championship she got a silver and later at Gothenburg 2006 she got a gold. At Madrid in 2005 European Indoor Championship she got a gold.
Yelena Isinbayeva had proved herself by scoring 1st position 21 times and braking her own record 23 times, these records include 24 world records. Out of which 14 world records are outdoor while 10 world records are indoor. Her father is a plumber and a member of small ethnic group. Her mother been a shop assistant. She believes that in her early career days her parents made many financial sacrifices for her to succeed. She has got Master's and Bachelor's degree and presently is studying in a post graduate school. She was awarded a rank of senior lieutenant in Russian army in the year 2005 and later in 2008 awarded was awarded with a rank of Captain.
