How improve Hockey as National Sports ?

Hockey Ground in India Even though Hockey is the National Sports of India it is not under so much of consideration so that it could attract the attention of people from around the world. The major reasons lying behind this cause are :
1. First of all even being the national sports, Hockey as a game is given much less importance in India in comparison to Cricket. Cricket on the other hand had been successful in proving itself as a game of passion for the people of the nation.
2. Secondly Hockey as a sports lacks some nice coaches. Not only the coaches it also lacks the basic infrastructure required for the game to be played. With the changing times the sport is getting much more competitive. If necessary infrastructure would not be provided on time the dream of a winner team can not come into existence.
3. Thirdly and the most important India as a country lacks the basic requirement where a game is to be played i.e., the nation lacks the international level sports grounds for hockey where the game can be played for better practice of the players. It is not so that there is not even a single hockey ground of this level. But the reality is that in comparison to the population density the number of grounds is very less.

There exist a vast and tremendous talent in the local areas of Punjab for the Hockey as a National Sport. There is a need to uplift this talent and then after there is a need to make those Hockey players aware about the International level of grounds, so that if selected in future in the national team for international events they would surely going to bring medals for the nation.

For all these to be accomplished better there is a immediate need to replenish the Hockey grounds of the nation. There also come a need to build such grounds in those small towns where there exists a vast talent for the nation. Besides this providing infrastructure to these areas of the nation would be another option on which to make a move is the immediate need.

I accept that India has most gold medals but that's not the limit. You must not forget that the winning days are gone for Hockey in India. Secondly, you told about astro turf courts and i find a important information been provided to me. Further looking towards the suggestions for the improvement of the sport we find that it would be hardly possible in a country like ours where you know Cricket is much more a passionate game even for the political leaders of the nation. So as per to me investing of the money and time would be hard deal to do. But still i thank you for your suggestions and i will try my best to bring these suggestions to the knowledge of my higher authorities.
