Captaincy issue: Ganguly enjoying as a batsman

















Sourav GangulyNEW DELHI: Former Indian Cricket team captain Sourav Ganguly does not miss captaincy at all in Indian Premier League II. Sourav told a tv news channel that he is enjoying the role of a batsman only. Sourav was the captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders team in the inaugural IPL.

He was replaced by New Zealand's Brendon McCullum in th second edition of IPL after much speculations. Sourav made it clear that he enjoyed captaincy in last IPL and Indian team as well. So he didn't care to be only a batsman in the team. He says that playing well is also important. When asked about a lot of controversies with the KKR, he said that the team had great players like McCullum, (Chris) Gayle and himself and stars like Shah Rukh Khan, John (Buchanan), so it was obvious to be in news.

He hoped the things would change automatically when the team start winning. He added that he was satisfied with the team and his personal performance so far. Sourav thought that he was enjoying cricket and hitting the ball well. Further, he is optimistic about upcoming matches and expected to turn it around.
