The game which makes you dissolve in your own sweat without letting you get dirty in sand or dust. Originally the game was invented by a Canadian physical education professor, he simply hanged a basket at a wall in inverted position for letting the students to score the points as per to the ducks been made.
Even the greatest (Indian) lovers of this game are not making any attempts to popularize this game in their home country. What is been noticed since a long gone past is that most Indians even do not want to know anything else then cricket. I even think sometimes that if our politicians can't promote other sports in the nation's interest then why don't they make a attempt to make Cricket our national game.
OK! we hear Indian basketball is making its ways towards the Asian level games but what there after? I know you all had never heard of Indian basketball team been reached at the International level. None of you can identify the leading basketball players of Indian team. Why? did you ever gave a thought to the point? Hardly ! am i correct?
I possess some common reasons for the purpose. These are :-
- First the unawareness about the game, its rules, its future scope.
- Second, the non availability of its resources, even the basic required a cemented floor might not be available at some important playing fields.
- Third, awareness resisting environment at the playing environment.
- A better trainer for the players.
- And even a healthy competitive environment.
Fulfilling the required requirements can make even our nation a leading competitor in this game in a decade or so.
