
Ice skating is one of the most adventurous event. To learn Ice skating events an individual is needed to start from roller skates. Practice of the events starts on roads. There are many ways of improving the speed of skates while on the drive. Some of the simple techniques are listed here under :
1. Powerful legs : A skater should possess powerful legs, so that he/she can increase the speed of the skates to the extent possible. Powerful legs can drag the skates to the most possible distance possible. To improve the strength of the legs a skater is advised to perform exercises for the legs.
2. Powerful shoulders : Along with powerful legs a skater should possess powerful shoulders so that he/she can apply some extra thrust to the body so that the skates could be dragged to a longer distance possible. So as to make the shoulders powerful a skater is advised to perform some dumbbell exercises also. Along with dumbbell exercises some other exercises are also advised for the shoulders.
3. Zig-Zag motion : While skating through either the rollers or the skate boards the skater is advised to move in criss-cross or zig-zag motion so that he/she can achieve best possible speed without hurting the legs on the co-ordination of the body.
There are many other ways of improving the skating and other than that there are many ways to improve skateboarding, all these ways can be learned with the help of a qualified trainer and regular practice of the skater.
