Messi awarded World Player of the Year

Lionel Messi, striker of Argentina and Barcelona, was awarded World Player of the Year by FIFA, ruling body of world of football, yesterday. Messi played an important role in winning World Club Cup and Champions League by scoring goals for Barcelona. The Spanish giants Barcelona had won a total of six titles including the two mentioned above. Recently, he was also voted the winner of the Ballon d'Or for the European Footballer of the Year. He did score the second goal for Barcelona which was resulted in 2-1 victory for his in World Club Cup final against South American champions Estudiantes of Argentina. In Champions League 2009, he came up as top scorer of the competition and won the title for the team. Including the league title, Barcelona won the European Super Cup, the Spanish Super Cup and the King's (Spanish) Cup.

After crowned as World Player of the Year, Messi thanked the teammates and appreciate the effort of them. He mentioned that the year 2009 has been a year of achievements to him.

Indians book seat in semi of Syed Modia GP

According to sports ministry of India, Formula One is not purely sports. The ministry says that it is entertainment. These remark held the process of Formula One to be held in India. JPSK Sports, the promoters of Formula One in the country, received a response from the ministry when the former asked for getting approval for remittance of $36.5 million (about Rs 177 crore) to be paid to Formula One Administration (UK) for holding an F1 race in India.

JPSK had first gone to the Reserve Bank of India, which asked them to get the ministry's approval. The sources, attached with the development, said that the application was rejected on account of not acknowledging F1 as a sport. The ministry also mention that F1 is just an entertainment which will not have an impact on Indian sports in any terms such as participation, broad-basing or promotion of excellence.

The ministry further added that the proposed F1 does not satisfy conditions which focus on human endeavour for excelling in competition with others, keeping in view the whole sports movement from Olympics downwards. MD, JPSK, Sameer Gaur also admitted that their application was not accepted.

KARACHI: Pakistan cricket team will play three Tests, five one-day international and a Twenty 20 international against Sri Lanka in July this year. Both the cricket boards have planned the schedule alreday. Sources said that the Sri Lankan tour has been scheduled from June 27 to August 12.

After completion of this series the team may leave for New Zealand. In New Zealand, the team will play three Tests. The tour to Sri Lanka will be the first one after a gap of about 20 months. The team played a proper and full Test series in India in the winter of 2007. Sources in the boards of both the teams said that either boards have finalised the tour which will scheduled to start in July. The Pakistani team will leave for Sri Lanka on June 27, while the first Test would begin in Galle from July 4. The second and third test would be played on Kandy from July 12 and Colombo from July 20, respectively.

The one day internationals will be played from July 30 in Dambulla. The next one day international will be held on August 1 and 3 followed by two games in Colombo on 7 and 9. The only Twenty20 match would also be played in the Colombo on August 12. Officially, it will be the first bilateral series between the two countries since the Sri Lankan team was attacked by militants in Lahore on March 3 and returned home with six wounded players.

MELBOURNE: Australian tennis player Lleyton Hewitt is afraid of the expected ban on Tennis Australia by International Tennis Federation. The ban is to be laid on TA for not participating in Davis Cup tie which was to be held in Chennai from May 8 to 10.

Hewitt wrote in his official blog that if the ban took place, his Davis Cup career would ruin as he was struggling to achieve his ranking after an injury. BCCI tells ICL players to join it by May 31

MUMBAI: The Board of control for Cricket in India (BCCI) lifted ban on the players on Wednesday, who joined Indian Cricket League (ICL), with a condition to leave ICL by May 31, 2009. However, the board has given a condition that the players would not be allowed to play any international matches for a year period after they quit the ICL.

They would have to play domestic cricket in this period. BCCI President Shashank Manohar told reporters that the decision was taken by board's working committee meeting. He told that a few player and support staff of ICL met the Board members and realised their mistake of joining rebel league. He further added that the Board was getting request letters regretting of their decision from the players.

Mr Manohar called it a punishment not to allow players to participate in international assignments. Zee Group owner Subhash Chandra's Indian Cricket League (ICL) attracted likes of Brian Lara, Inzamam-ul Haq and Shane Bond. Chandra launched ICL after India's debacle in the ODI World Cup in the West Indies in 2007. But the BCCI did not recognise the ICL and announced a ban on players associated with the 'rebel' League.

MUMBAI: The 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup final will be held in India. The International Cricket Council (ICC) CEO Haroon Lorgat announced it here on Tuesday. Apart form it, a semifinal and 29 matches will be played on different stadiums in the country. On the other hand, Bangaladesh will host the opening ceremony and eight matches. 12 matches, including a semifinal, will be played in Sri Lanka.

Besides this India will host the prestigious 2011 World Cup secretariat in Mumbai as the ICC ruled out Pakistan as a co-host. Mr Lorgat said that the schedule had to be re-drawn and accordingly. The secretariat was to be held in Lahore. Another good news for India is, BCCI chief administrative officer Ratnakar Shetty was appointed the Managing Director of the 2011 World Cup.

It is to be mentioned that the 2011 World Cup will be the tenth edition of Cricket World Cup, and will be co-hosted by India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

SYDNEY: After much talks and series of correspondence, Tennis Australia (TA) opted to withdraw its participation from Davis Cup tie against India, in Chennai, next month due to security concerns. TA declared on Saturday, the team will not leave for Chennai. According to rules, TA will have to face one year suspension, if doesn't participate.

The decision followed the International Tennis Federation Board's rejection of TA's appeal to shift the tie out of India. Earlier, TA sought to change the venue after the attack on Sri Lanken cricket team in Lahore and terror attacks in India last year. According to a release a couple of days back All India Tennis Association had been advised by the ITF that Tennis Australia has officially appealed against the decision of the Davis Cup Committee to the ITF Board regarding confirmation of the Davis Cup venue as Chennai.

LONDON: Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar became the first Indian sportsman whose life-size wax statue was installed in Madame Tussauds wax museum. The wax statue was inaugurated on Sachin's 36 birthday on Friday. He is the third cricketer to make the grade and joins cricket legends Brian Lara and Shane Warne. However, the statue was formally launched by Tendulkar in Mumbai on April 13 but officially it was inaugurated in London's wax museum on Friday.

In fact, Sachin is busy in Indian Premier League II in South Africa. He celebrated his birthday with his Mumbai Indians teammates. There are a lot of wax statue of Bollywood actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan. NEW DELHI: Around 8.3 million viewers watched the Indian Premier League's II match played between Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals on Thursday. It made a Television history as the match attracted more viewers in the first 10 matches in IPL II compared to the first 10 matches IPL I. According to Audience Measurement & Analytics (aMap), overnight ratings agency, it also recorded the highest average time spent of 54 minutes by the viewers on SET MAX.

The new rule of 'Super Overs' was also took place for the first time in the IPL II. This rule comes into effect when scores are tied during the fixed overs. However, by using this rule the match's timing went into four hours and 35 minutes which is 60 minutes more than general.
This match also had the highest on-air advertising time on SET MAX with over 25 brands consuming about 45 minutes of on-air advertising, more than double a regular Twenty20 cricket match.

The match delivered a TVR (television ratings) of 4.5, the second highest in IPL2 so far. IPL II is proved more beneficial for all who connected with this. The reason behind the cause is all these players belong to the poor families. Non possess enough money to be paid for the tournament's fees. Among the team only two members are capable to borrow money from others as they are presently doing some part time job. But you all know a part time job can not help them for long. Its not that we have not tried for the team sponsorship but no one want to invest their money in a game like this where they feel their is no future. You yourself judge that if no one start then how will such games can be promoted in country like ours. Its not so that cricket will always going to entertain the people of this nation.
Talent of this nation is not only available in a particular field, talent is needed to be searched in each and every field. And if somewhere we can find the talent we are unable to find the force to uplift this talent. There is a public saying in Hindi :-"Jahan daant hain wahan chane nahi aur jahan chane hain wahan daant nahi."! Meaning where resources are present - there is no talent. And if somewhere talent is present there are no resources. I know its not possible to find players which possess talent with them but if some talented players come to them they really needs to help them. Big companies can sponsor such talent. And even small companies can sponsor them, there is nothing as such that these players will going to ask them about money or related matters. They just want someone to help them so that they can prove themselves so that no-one can pin-point them next time when they are going to make a big deal.

I was somewhat confused for that what was the real reason for Indian Cricket to be in so much of highlights. I was searching for the answer and one day i thought that i would be able to receive it, but nothing as such happened and i got much more confused. See how _ _ _ _

One day after a news bulletin on TV during dinner there started a big debate over Indian Cricket. The topic of the debate was that whether cricket be the king among the list of all the sports been played on the soil of our country. At one point my father argued that,"there are three most powerful and richest nations in the world owns the highest number of medals in all categorical sports but none of them have cricket even as a game. It is hardly possible to find cricket in their streets with children playing with a bat or a ball. When asked he told these are the very familiar nations - USA, Russia and China. He also told that we are still the slaves of Britishers as we follow their likable games. They played these games on our soil when they were ruling us and now we are playing the very same game to pay homage or tribute to them ? Are not we slaves of them. Is not that true that Britishers still rules the us and evenly The Cricket ?"

Instead of clearing my doubt my father confused me much more. Later started my sister. She believes that,"its not the Boastfulness of Britain, that we are playing their once lovable and still likable game and its also not that Britishers did not ruled America and China. Yes that's other point that they ruled their for only very less time compared to ours. Like wise India Britishers did not found much resources in countries like America and China. F1 Road Show in Delhi

But recently the thunderous Renault Roadshow organized at Raj path - Delhi on the 9th of November have been able to attract a vast group of people from around the city. This was the first roadshow of its kind in India. This Formula one car road show was organized after receiving a invitation from the Organizing Committee of the Commonwealth Games of India. It is believed that with this roadshow the celebration for the Commonwealth games which are about to be held at 2010 has started.

Looking to the field events we have throwing type of events there are Discus, Hammer, Javlin and Short Put. Its not that cricket is the national game of the nation but still it has occupied its place in the hearts of the people as a national sports. This un-fortunate thing happened because the national sports of India Hockey was unable to bring any gold after the seventies in the Olympic events. While on the other hand cricket brought the world cup. While non other sports there after was been able to make a big change in any important international event.
Cricket was not only the eye of the viewers but also became a issue for the politicians. It became a hot issue everywhere there stands a group of people. Cricket became the beat of nearly every Indian. Cricketers were and even are still provided with uncountable money whereas such is not the case with other sports person. They are living there part of life in struggle. If someone puts their voice forward he/ she is provided with a small amount of money. While if a cricketer makes a very simple attempt of cutting a ribbon even he is provided with uncountable money from all sides. This should really be needed to be changed. A revolution is needed to be brought.
But now the question arises that whether this game should remain the first priority in considering other sports of the nation or should other sports should also be given their part of chances? Whether we as Indians should forget the cricket so as to uplift other sports? Whether we should forget the legends of many great players in cricket? What should be the answer?
One answer lies with me. Can this be a better answer for the nation and its other sports. According to me we must not forget cricket, but instead must make an attempt to promote other sports also. Now comes the needs to improve the stretching capacities, which can be improved through the ways stated below :
1. First essential requirement is that stretching should never be done when the body is cool and calm. If stretching is needed to be done then one should first do some body warming exercises, which could be any of these - jogging slowly for 400meters to a kilometer depending upon the capacity of the body from age to sex. One can also try jumping on the spot, dancing for a while can also help one in increasing the cardio rate and there-by increasing the body temperature. Further massaging to the body with Luke warm oil by rotating the hands on the body organs in the direction of heart prior to a stretching exercise routine will also help in improving the body circulating rate.
2. Second requirement is that stretching exercise should be done according to the need of the body, the age and the sex capabilities. If a individual is trying to stretch his/her body to the fullest on the second or the third day of there routine then sorry; the individual can suffer sprain or strain in the body organs. Keeping the body the way it moves can not only the stretching but will also bring a boom in the personality of the person.
3. It is very necessary to keep the exercising patterns very regular whether the body is capable or not. Let the body work the amount it can. Being a Athlete from the days of school, i was well aware of, what the doping really is? What harmful effects it can cause on the body and the consequences which can arise because of such commitments. Practice for events and schooling was so co-ordinated that i was unable to give much time to this research topic of my interest. Days keep on going passed and one day.......

I saw Marion Jones on TV. She was crying and was making commits that she had used steroids in Olympic events to win the race. The very same race for which she was awarded and honored. That very event made me realize that using steroids not only hurts the body, mind and all others who loves and cares for you but it also creates a ghost in mind that if some-one had tried to stop us or we ourself had not made an attempt to be involved in such activity what could have happened? It all would have required a little extra hard work so as to win the game and nothing else. An Athlete might also feel a loss of time, money, health, pride, self-esteem and even a courage of facing the world.

DOPING is not a recent activity, it is something which existed from before. During the early days horses were given alcohol, later beer and similar things were given by their owners so as to increase their performance in races. Human used these energy adding products in the later stages. One athlete consumed a small glass of beer during his Marathon run, and he found himself energized and see the impact he won the race. Martial boys according to me should be group of volunteers which is always found active to take initiative to help people in needs. This group must be present in every society and should comprise only those boys who possess a real sense of humanity and regards to the people without hurting even a single feeling residing in every one and the other heart. This group should not consist even a single member who can hurt others or is addicted to any a kind of wrong habit.
